As a scrap metal artist, I combine my belief in recycling with a deep appreciation for old metal.  I draw my inspiration both from the world around me, as well as from the scrap itself; sometimes I set out to find a particular shape for a project, and sometimes a particular shape suggests its own eventual form.  Beyond the actual construction, I enjoy the problem-solving aspect of working with found objects.  Matching the shapes of the materials to my artistic vision presents a set of constantly changing challenges.  Somehow it is these very challenges that always make the finished results so rewarding.
